The specialist will start on the brickwork package next month with work lasting through to 2026.

Lovell, and joint venture partner Peabody will work with Winchmore to deliver 329 new homes alongside 1,000m2 of commercial space.

Winchmore will be laying nearly one million (16,000m2) of handset bricks on the development which is running alongside a range of other Peabody-led improvements in the local area.

Winchmore is a major backer of training in the sector and the firm is planning for the Winchmore Brickwork Group’s skills bus to make numerous school, academy and college visits in the local area.

Chairman Tony Yianni said: “The bus is a mobile classroom, showcasing many aspects of our great trade with videos, literature, and tools.

“Presentations by current, and former, Winchmore Brickwork Group apprentices are structured to give a taste of what our trade is all about, encouraging the next generation of bricklayers to ‘take up the trowel’ and be one of the, at least ten apprentices, in various capacities, we are committed to taking on for this project alone.”
