Scottish Water opens bidding on £800m framework

The water company is looking for several supplier capabilities to deliver the £500m-£800m programme, including MEICA, civil construction and ceramic membrane product suppliers.

An appointed principal partner will need to have these capabilities or demonstrate it could acquire these skillsets.

This principal supplier for the Ceramic Membrane Programme will also need pan-Scotland capability to deliver this programme.

The framework will be awarded next year running until March 2033, with extension options after.

Scottish Water installed the ceramic membrane technology at Bonnycraig Water Treatment Works at Peebles in the Scottish Borders in 2022 with Amey as principal contractor and RSE design consultant, using treatment systems developed by PWNT.

Following the success of the treatment technology, phase 1 of the new Scottish Water planned programme will see construction and commissioning of Turriff Ceramic Membrane Water Treatment Works in Aberdeenshire.

Interest firms or JVs have until 18 December to submit applications. Click here to express an interest.
