Swinerton opens Maui office in Hawaii

• Concord, California-based Swinerton is increasing its presence in Hawaii with its establishment of a new, permanent office in Maui, the company announced on Jan. 16. The location will complement Swinerton’s Honolulu office.
• At the center of the 6,250-square-foot office space is a mass timber mezzanine designed and fabricated by Timberlab, the Swinerton-owned mass timber provider. This centerpiece anchors the warehouse and workspace, which supports a team of 12, per the release. 
• The Maui office is at least the second new location for Swinerton in the last four months. In October, the contractor broke ground on its Austin, Texas, office, which will also feature key mass timber components.

Swinerton was ranked as Hawaii’s fifth-largest contractor by Pacific Business News, and the company has been operating on Maui for over 60 years, according to the release. 

“Our goal is to continue positively contributing to the Maui community, and by establishing a permanent Maui office, we can better support our clients and our team in delivering general contracting and construction services within the aviation, hospitality, industrial, retail and luxury retail markets,” said Aaron Yamasaki, Swinerton’s vice president and Hawaii division manager, in the release.

Notable projects for the team include:

• Renovations at the Royal Lahaina Hotel in Lahaina, Hawaii, and Maui Airport Industrial Warehouse in Kahului, Hawaii.
• Upgrades at Kahului Airport in Kahului, Hawaii, for Hawaiian Airlines, Southwest and American Airlines.
• Luxury retail improvements, such as Bucherer at Whaler’s Village in Lahaina, Hawaii.
