Landmark Construction Co., a family-owned civil construction firm based in Charleston, South Carolina, has new leadership, the company announced earlier this month.
As of Feb. 1, former COO Anthony M. Garcia has succeeded Rick Mixson as president and CEO. Garcia had held the COO role, his first position with Landmark, for a year and a half. Prior to that, Garcia had worked for Rogers Group, a Nashville-based aggregates and asphalt highway construction company, according to his LinkedIn profile.
As COO, Garcia was involved in overseeing strategic initiatives, expanding business operations and delivering financial results, the announcement said.

“Anthony has been a driving force behind our company’s success. I am confident he will continue to lead with vision and integrity,” Mixson said in the announcement. Mixson had led the company for just over 26 years prior to stepping down.
With the leadership transition, the Mixson family will continue ownership of Landmark Construction. Rick Mixson and Cindy Mixson will serve as chairman and co-chairman of the board.
Garcia will focus on strengthening customer relationships and expanding regions in which Landmark works, the release said. The company currently performs site preparation, utilities, concrete, industrial and technology construction work in the Southeast, with a focus on South Carolina.
